The academic year at the University of Adelaide consists of two fifteen week semesters. Participants in the Brockport University of Adelaide Program may enroll for the fall, spring, or for the full academic year.

All four Colleges offer traditional style co-ed dormitory accommodation at a very high standard and all four are located a short walk from the campus of the University of Adelaide. Each of these residential college offers an environment that facilitates the integration of international students into the life of the university. Throughout the academic year, each residential college offers its members a wide range of events and activities ranging from formal dinners to sporting activites and charitable/service activities. All four offer complete programs of social, recreational, sporting and athletic activities that create for their members the genuine and active Australian collegiate life.
In all of these residential colleges, accommodation is in single study bedrooms equipped with telephones and voicemail facilities. Each room contains a bed, a desk and ample closet space. In some cases, bathrooms are shared (in others, the bathrooms are en suite). There are many lounges and common rooms in each of these residential colleges. Towels, bedding and bed linen are provided and there is weekly maid service.
All four colleges provide residents a fully catered meal service [twenty-one meals per week].

Orientation:
An orientation program specifically for study abroad and exchange students is conducted by the University of Adelaide during the week prior to the commencement of classes in both semesters. Issues covered include settling in to life in Adelaide, culture shock, accommodation, health insurance, clubs and societies, email access, study skills, weekend trips, and social events.

Credits:
Participants in the Brockport University of Adelaide Program will normally earn four or five credit hours for each module successfully completed at the University of Adelaide, for a maximum of fifteen credits per semester.
Curriculum:
Participants in the Brockport University of Adelaide Program will select (prior to departure) three courses from the courses available to study abroad students at the University of Adelaide. All instruction in the Brockport University of Adelaide Program is by University of Adelaide faculty.
Participants in the Brockport University of Adelaide Program are examined in the same manner (and to the same standard) as their Australian counterparts and classmates. The majority of courses in which they will enroll are examined formally at the end of the semester and in order to be awarded credit, participants must take--and pass-- the examination at the end of the study period in question.
Restricted Areas of Study
Study abroad students are able to take a wide range of subjects across a number of Faculties and Schools at the University of Adelaide. Please note however that courses in the following Faculties/Schools are NOT available to study abroad students:

The University of Adelaide offers a part-time internship program which allows students to gain hands on experience. This program equips students with a range of practical skills, built on the knowledge they have gained during their study. Students are drawn from a range of discipline backgrounds and will be matched with suitable projects dependent on their interests, major study area and experience.
Program and Assesment
During the course of their internship, students are expected to complete a short academic orientation and some seminars. Students then work on a research task under the joint supervision of an organisational host supervisor and an academic supervisor. By the end of the academic year, students write a report (of about 7 000 words) giving an account of the research project undertaken during the internship.
Placement
Students who wish to participate in the internship program should fill out the study abroad application and designate their desire to do so under the program title and in their study statement. They should also sumbit a resume and a cover letter in which they describe the kind of internship placement they would like to have.
