Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts Summer Dance Workshop

The School of Dance is one of the four schools which along with Art, Music and Drama comprise the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts, a co-educational, tertiary level institution. The School trains performers, teachers, artists and community leaders. Its main objective is to provide professional training in a variety of techniques against the background of Jamaica and Caribbean Traditional Forms which is the main technique taught.

Original research and documentation of these Traditional Caribbean Forms are an important aspect of the overall program. Edna Manley College enjoys the status of an Inter-American Centre of the Organization of American States. It is one of eleven such centers in the hemisphere, and is the only one of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean. The school is accredited by the Joint Board of Teacher Education, University of the West Indies.

Edna Manley College is 15-minutes from the Norman Manley International Airport-just minutes away from Kingston's main nightlife entertainment strip - New Kingston, where you will find restaurants, hotels, banks and shopping malls.

The Summer Dance Workshop at the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts in Jamaica offers you the opportunity to:

  • Live and study in Jamaica,
  • Improve your dance techniques.
