Fees for the Brockport Italy Internship Program
Spring 2009 Four (4) months: $9,250
Spring 2009 Six (6) months: $11,550
Fall 2009 Four (4) months: $9,250 (est.)
Fall 2009 Six (6) months: $1,550 (est.)
Summer 2009 Three (3) months: $7,850 (est.)
INCLUDES:
- Three to six months of intensive Italian language training (80 hours per month),
- All necessary course material,
- Unique placement opportunity in a Florentine business or organization,
- Pre-departure material and welcome orientation upon arrival,
- English speaking directors in Florence for your support,
- Various intern services and learning support services,
- Internet service during normal business hours,
- Cost of travel to places of cultural or historical significance organized as part of each internship. Optional activities, trips, and tours can also be arranged,
- Mail service,
- Assistance with housing (does not include cost of housing and meals),
- Worker's compensation insurance (required for all internships in Italy),
- Professional language certification.
DOES NOT INCLUDE:
- Passport Fee,
- Visa Fee (must make appointment with Consulate and apply in person for visa [usually in New York City]),
- Health Insurance,*
- Various campus-specific fees** (Student Government, Technology Fees, etc.),
- Housing,
- Airfare to and from location,
- Transportation,
- Airport pick-up or drop-off (available upon request),
- Meals,
- Personal Expenses.
The actual amount that you will spend depends heavily on your style of living, and will vary with each individual's personal spending habits, entertainment preferences and travel choices.
Financial aid applies towards fees.
*SUNY regulations require that participants in Overseas Academic Programs have "adequate" insurance coverage. Students whose current health insurance is not "adequate" may purchase appropriate coverage for $353.75 per semester/$79.25 per month (this is the current cost and is subject to change).
