Brockport's Griffith College Program offers participants the opportunity to enroll directly in courses and programs offered by this centrally-located university-level institution in the heart of Dublin. In addition to selecting a program of formal coursework, participants may elect to seek a placement in a full- or part-time internship at a wide range of businesses, organizations and agencies (both public and private) at locales within Dublin or in the surrounding suburbs of this, Ireland's thriving capital city. Griffith College, Dublin arranges housing for participants in in new apartment-style, on campus residence halls during the course of their internships or their semester of coursework.
Two Tracks of Study are available in the Brockport Griffith College Program:
1. The Coursework Track:
Students choosing this track will enroll in fifteen credit hours of courses appropriate to their US-based study in one or more of the following areas:
- Journalism and Media Studies,
- Hospitality and Tourism,
- Business and Management,
- Accounting and Finance,
- International Law,
- Computing,
- Design and Interior Architecture.
2. The Internship Track:
Students choosing this track will be placed in a twelve-credit internship that will offer them the important opportunity of gaining practical experience in their chosen field in an international arena, often with US companies based in Ireland. They will also be enrolled in a three-credit module taught by Griffith College that will maximize the value of their internship. Majors that can be accommodated include:
- Accounting,
- Hospitality Management,
- Journalism,
- Management and Customer Service and Marketing,
- Public Relations, and,
- Radio, Television and Film.
Internship placements vary based on student profiles and company needs, but all ensure that participants will be able to gain valuable skills that will serve to make them more marketable to potential employers upon their return home.
