The Francisco de Vitoria University

A young, innovative, flexible university, established in 1992, we form part of a private, not for profit foundation. We are fully accredited by the Ministry of Education and Local Government of Madrid. Approximately 3,000 students study with us, including 300 international students from over 38 countries. Inspired by Catholic values, we aim to achieve the following:

  • Academic excellence,
  • A personalized, practical approach to studying, based on industry specific needs,
  • An integral, well-rounded education,
  • Promotion of an international environment encouraging multicultural diversity.

This joint program offers students the unique chance to continue with their academic training whilst having the experience of a lifetime.

Housing & Orientation

Housing:

Important note: Host family accommodation and half board is included in the cost of the program for the first month. After the first month, students can choose to stay in their host family accommodation and pay UFV directly or they can choose to seek alternative housing on their own.

Also note that students need to apply for housing as soon as possible. If students want housing in the center of Madrid for the internship portion of their stay it is critical they apply sooner rather than later.

Host Family Accommodation - Half Board

  • By far the most effective way to ensure the language learning and cultural assimilation process continues outside of the classroom, staying with a host family, either in the center of Madrid or in the area surrounding the University, offering students the chance to live in a warm, welcoming environment, with families who are very used to sharing their houses with international students. Home stays include breakfast and dinner.

All families undergo a rigorous selection process consisting of a telephone interview and visit and there is a process of continuous evaluation and follow-up to ensure families meet students needs and maintain high standards.

Students will be given a 24 hour emergency telephone number. All accommodation is subject to availability.

Student Services:

The following services are offered to all our international students:

  • Student "Buddy" Program
  • Academic advising
  • Insurance
  • Airport transportation
  • Assistance opening a bank account
  • 24 hour emergency telephone
  • Welcome breakfast
  • Leaving certificate and official university transcript
  • Official written report from the organization where the assignment is undertaken
  • CV and interview workshops
