One thing to note, under 'semester' it will say for example 200410 or 200420.
200510 - Means it will run in academic year 2005 in semester 1 and 200520 -
Means it will run in academic year 2005 in semester 2, this translates
for 2005 and 2006 respectfully.
Credits:
Participants of Brockport's Middlesex University program will normally earn five credit hours for each course successfully completed at Middlesex, for a maximum of fifteen credits per semester. (Four credits per course will be awarded if students opt for the fourth course at the stated additional charge).
Curriculum:
Participants on Brockport's Middlesex University program will, prior to departure, select 3 courses from the more than 600 courses available to study abroad students at Middlesex University (participants may opt to take a fourth course for an additional fee). When choosing courses, students are encourage to review the most recent course listings online.
All program instruction is by the faculty at Middlesex University and participants are examined in the same manner, and to the same standard, as their British classmates. For a majority of the courses, students are examined formally at the end of the semester and in order to be awarded credit, participants must take-and-pass--the examination at the end of the study period.
As an alternative to taking 3 courses at Middlesex University, participants have the opportunity to gain work experience in a UK organisation and undertake academic study at the same time. The part-time semester internships normally take place over 2 days so students can easily combine them with other university courses. Typically, participants in the part-time internship program will take 2 courses in addition to their work experience.
Internship placements are set-up by matching the individual skills and interests of the student with the needs of the company and/or organization. Internships vary in structure and assessment requirements but all carry university credit.
