The academic year at University College London consists of three terms. Formal teaching takes place in the first two 12 week terms (fall and spring), and the third 7 week term (summer) is reserved for revision lectures, individual tutorials, and formal assessment which usually takes the form of examinations. Those students attending the fall semester only will be required to sit a special examination or produce extended essays in each course. Students entering in the spring semester are registered for both the spring and summer terms. Participants are not admitted for solely the spring or the summer term.
